The Northeast Generals will be well represented when the North American Hockey League converges on Plymouth, Michigan, for the 2026 Top Prospects Tournament.
Forwards Kody Moyer, Alec Hall, and Mikey Bartkowski will join defenseman Jack Montaldo, as well as goaltender Will Mizenko, and Coach Bryan Erikson, who were all selected to compete at the event.
The NAHL Top Prospects Tournament is comprised of seven teams, along with the USNTDP, making eight teams in total. Four of the seven NAHL rosters will be made up of players from their respective divisions, consisting of the top college-ready athletes. The remaining three teams, referred to as the ‘Selects teams’, will group younger talent from across the league born between 2006 and 2009. Each team will play two games over the two-day tournament.
“We’re really proud to have some good representation at the NAHL’s Top Prospects tournament. It’s very deserving for the players who are going. Personally, I think we should have a few more based on their seasons, but it doesn’t always work out the way you or I want. I’m proud of all of our players, and hopefully that gives them the drive and is something they can set their sights on in future years,” said Bryan Erikson.
The two graduating players, Bartkowski and Mizenko, have been selected to join Team East.
Bartkowski was in the midst of a dominating breakout season before suffering an injury. The 20-year-old from Fort Hill, SC, already set a new career high in all offensive categories with 20 points (7g-13a) in just 17 games. A difference-maker when on the ice, the Generals are 12-4-1 with Bartkowski in the lineup. He has yet to play since November 15th.
Mizenko is the surefire, veteran, starting netminder acquired through a trade just two games into the regular season. The 6’5 workhorse is tied for 3rd in the NAHL with 15 wins, has played the second most minutes (1696) while facing the third most shots (861). He currently holds a 15-10-3-1 record to go along with a 2.76 GAA and .909 SV%.
Being chosen to the ‘Selects Blue’ team are Kody Moyer, Alec Hall, and Jock Montaldo.
Moyer is currently tied for the team lead in points with 34 (12g-22a). Returning to his home state of Michigan for the Top Prospects Tournament, just like Bartkowski, Moyer has already shattered his rookie season point total of 21 set last year.
While Moyer co-leads the team in points, it’s Alec Hall who paves the way in goals. The 6th overall pick in the 2025 NAHL entry draft has 16 goals to go along with 17 assists in his first season in the league.
Joining the forwards on ‘Selects Blue’ will be Jack Montaldo, who returned to the Generals in early November after playing in 50 games for the Gens last year. The 2006-born blueliner has 21 points in 70 career games.
General’s Head Coach Bryan Erikson will also have responsibilities at the event, being named as an assistant coach. He has bench-bossed the Generals to a 20-14-3-1 record where they currently sit in 4th place in the East Division.
The 2026 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will be held at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan, from February 16-17, 2026.
