The Northeast Generals are proud to announce that graduating defenseman Ryan Solari has secured his collegiate commitment to play hockey at Roger Williams University, and join the Hawks Men’s Hockey program for the 2026-27 campaign.

The local product out of Kingston, MA made his NAHL debut with the Generals in his final year of junior eligibility this past season, Solari played all but two regular season games with 57 games played, picking up 16 points (1g-15a). This, however, was not the first season in the Gens family for the hard-nosed blueliner.

Drafted in two straight years by the NAHL Gens, most recently with the 379th pick in the 2025 NAHL Entry Draft, Solari was a mainstay on the backend with the NA3HL Northeast Generals for the previous two seasons from 2023-25.

“Ryan is an amazing young man.  He came to us three years ago and has been a standout in our organization since the first practice.  Ryan had two outstanding years for our NA3HL team under Coach Darryl Locke.  He did everything Darryl asked of him and more, both on and off the ice.  This year when he made the NAHL team we were so excited because of what he brings to our team.  He brings a winning mentality, leadership, accountability and great play.  He is one of the most popular players on the team.  The boys love him because he holds himself accountable and his teammates accountable every day.  He plays an aggressive style, never backing down to anyone.  He played through injuries and illness.  Just a truly great human being, amazing teammate and very good hockey player.  Roger Williams and Coach Hall are getting a difference maker both on and off the ice. We’re really excited for Ryan and his wonderful family,” said Head Coach and GM Bryan Erikson.

Over the course of his Generals tenure, Solari has played 155 combined regular season and playoffs games, adding 16 goals, 47 assists, and 309 penalty minutes.

“I couldn’t have imagined a better place to spend my junior career. From learning how to lead a group, to being shown how to be a man. As I continue to progress throughout my hockey and academic career, the things I’ve learned and the bonds that I have created during my time at the Generals will continue to serve me long into the future,” said Solari.

Roger Williams University is located in Bristol, RI competing in NCAA DIV III

The Northeast Generals organization would like to congratulate Ryan and his family on his accomplishment.
