The NA3HL Northeast Generals are proud to announce that gritty, lockdown Defenseman Owen Locke has committed to play his NCAA hockey at Manhattanville University!
Owen played for the Northeast Generals 16U team first and then joined his brother Michael at Worcester Academy. After a standout Prep career Owen joined the NA3HL Generals. He helped lead the Generals to 3 straight Fraser Cup finals. Owen’s hard hitting and gritty style saw him diving all over the ice to block any shot, defending his teammates and ensuring his opponents were reluctant to go to the net when he was on the ice. In 59 regular season games Owen put up 6 goals and 20 assists while almost always being at the top of the league in blocks and hits.
Owen will continue his outstanding hockey career at Manhattanville!
“I don’t think people in the organization and outside realize how big of a warrior Owen was for us. He battled a lot of injuries and played in a lot of pain many times. But he never once didn’t play his style which was to dive face first in front of shots, finish all his hits and just be a menace on the ice. But he also did a great job on the PK helping the team set numerous NA3HL records for short handed goals in a season. His will to win was incredible and that is what he always did, win. We will miss him and the example he set for all of his teammates.” Said GM Bryan Erikson.
