Generals Continue to Make Moves

The Northeast Generals ( www.northeastgenerals.com), today announced the hiring of Connor Brickley as Director of Girls Programming as well as a merger with the Cape Cod Kraken. Connor has developed the Kraken program over the last few years to become a leader in girls hockey on the Cape. Connor comes to the Generals after a prestigious playing career and now coaching career. Connor was a standout at Belmont Hill before going to the USHL and then the NDTP (National Development Team Program). After 4 years at the University of Vermont, Connor went on to play parts of 6 season in the AHL and NHL. Since leaving his playing days behind he has built a tremendous girls program on Cape Cod and looks to take that success to the Northeast Generals for years to come.

“The Northeast Generals are very excited to have Connor and the current Kraken players as part of our Generals Family. Connor’s reputation and pedigree speak for itself. More importantly he does it the right way and has provided the girls in the Kraken program with the opportunity to develop and succeed at the highest level. We are lucky to have him as part of the team” said Matthew Atherton, President of Business Operations for the Northeast Generals.

Connor Brickley echoed, “This move is a very exciting one for our female players on Cape Cod and over the bridge. This alignment creates even more opportunities for our players and opens many more doors. It also allows us to introduce the rest of the State to the excellent players on the Cape and grow the game by providing our female players from U8 to U19 the same opportunities that male players have always had.”

As a result of this merger and the Northeast Generals recent merger with the Bridgewater Bandits, both organizations will be rebranded Northeast Generals for the 2024-25 season and the girls will play in the NEGHL (New England Girls Hockey League).
